OUR STORY
Founded in 2020, The Rivereens are a six-piece professional band based in Corowa, New South Wales. We started as a group of friends who share a love for music and a desire to entertain and inspire others. With breathtaking harmonies, engaging stage presence, and a diverse repertoire spanning decades, we bring a unique blend of talent and creativity to every performance. We've written and performed many original songs, and had our music aired on the ABC radio. Along the way, some of our songs have picked up a few awards, including an Encouragement Award at the Australian National Busking Championships. In the past three years on ANZAC day, we have performed our originals "Will We Come Home" and "Into The Blue" as musical tributes to the ANZAC's and those who served our country.
Over time, The Rivereens has played at numerous venues across North-East Victoria and Southern New South Wales. A new segment has recently been added to our show — a special appearance from the iconic Murray Darlings, bringing a fun touch of comedy and flair. The Rivereens are also one of the very few bands to have two left-handed musicians, i.e., Geoff and Rosa, who go by the nicknames "L1" and "L2" (inspired by "B1" and "B2" from the popular television series Bananas In Pyjamas). On that note, let's introduce our band!
Our roles in the band:
Claudia (The Diva of the group) - Lead vocalist, ukulelist, guitarist, drummer, trumpeter, and songwriter
Jude - Vocalist, guitarist, flautist, and COWBELL-ist!
Rosa (Artistic director) - Vocalist, pianist, guitarist, accordionist, tambourinist, songwriter, videographer, and video editor
Rod (The River in the Rivereens) - Lead guitarist, harmonicist, vocalist, and songwriter
Geoff (Co-founder of the Band) - Lead Bassist, drummer, guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter
Jeremy - Lead Drummer, vocalist, and guitarist
